A 66-year-old Ajax man is facing two sexual assault charges after Durham Regional Police investigated incidents in the town, and investigators say they are worried there may be more victims.

According to Durham Regional Police, the first incident took place on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at about 8:30 a.m. in the area of Harwood Avenue North and Rossland Road in Ajax. A male approached a female, attempted to make conversation and shake her hand, then sexually assaulted her and fled the area.

As the investigation continued, police identified a similar incident on September 15, 2026, at approximately 3:15 p.m. In that case, a male approached a female along the Miller Creek Trail, south of Rossland Road near Bennet Avenue in Ajax. He attempted to make conversation before sexually assaulting her and leaving on foot.

Hakim Hussainzada, 66, of Ajax is charged with two counts of sexual assault, Durham Regional Police said.

Police describe the accused as a Brown male, about 5'3" tall, with a thin build, short white and grey hair, scruffy facial hair, and missing front teeth.

Investigators have released few other details, but say they are concerned there may be other victims who have not yet come forward.

The accused has not yet had his day in court, and the charges against him have not been proven.
