Recreation facilities in Ajax will keep their regular hours this Halloween, the Town has confirmed in its operating schedule for the holiday.
All recreation facilities will be open their usual hours on Saturday, Oct. 31, according to the Oct. 15 notice.
Daytime programs will run as planned, and all group fitness programs will go ahead as scheduled. Drop-in basketball for ages 14 to 18 will take place at 6:30 p.m.
The early-evening changes affect younger users. Preschool, children and youth programs are cancelled after 4 p.m. on Halloween, the notice says. Youth Spaces will also be closed from 4 p.m. onward.
That means families with children in evening programs should plan ahead: anything scheduled after 4 p.m. for preschool, child or youth participants won't run that day, while adult and group fitness activities continue uninterrupted.
The Town typically adjusts program hours around Halloween, when many children and families head out for trick-or-treating in neighbourhoods across Ajax.
Residents planning a visit to a recreation facility on Oct. 31 are encouraged to check the Town's posted schedule for details on specific programs and drop-in times before heading out.
