Unauthorized trucking operations and other illegal land uses in Caledon were among the violations prosecuted in cases that resulted in more than $100,000 in fines during the first four months of 2026, according to a Town of Caledon news release.

The town reported the enforcement results on May 14, saying its Municipal Law Enforcement staff helped secure multiple prosecutions between Jan. 1 and April 30. The fine total covers those prosecutions collectively.

The cases involved zoning and land-use violations, including unauthorized trucking operations, commercial vehicle storage, illegal event activities and unlawful alterations to land. The release did not identify the properties involved or provide a breakdown of fines by case.

Alongside the prosecutions, the town said it obtained several court orders during the same period. Those included prohibition and restoration orders, which the municipality said support compliance and help protect Caledon’s rural character and environment.

The release did not detail the terms of those orders or specify how many were obtained.

Judith D’Souza Soares, Caledon’s commissioner of community services, credited the town’s Illegal Land Use Task Force with the enforcement results.

“Our Illegal Land Use Task Force continues to deliver enforcement results that help protect residents, preserve the integrity of our communities and ensure compliance with Town by-laws,” D’Souza Soares said in the town’s news release.
