Families in Pickering can now check what air-quality improvements have been made at their children's schools, after the Durham District School Board posted its updated ventilation measures report.

The standardized report, dated as of June 2026, was published in line with a Ministry of Education requirement that school boards across Ontario post ventilation information online.

According to the Durham District School Board, the province mandated the postings to enhance transparency for students, parents and staff, and to provide consistent communication across Ontario about the measures taken to improve air quality in schools.

The board, which oversees public schools across Durham Region including those in Pickering, has made the information available in a spreadsheet that parents can search by school. Each entry shows what improvements have been made at that location.

The document contains two tabs of information. The board notes that viewers must click an "Enable Editing" button at the top of the spreadsheet in order to see the contents of both tabs.

The DDSB Ventilation Measures Report can be accessed through the board's website at ddsb.ca. The board's head office is located at 400 Taunton Road East in Whitby.

Air quality in schools has been a focus for boards provincewide since the Ministry of Education introduced the reporting requirement, with each board responsible for documenting the steps taken in its own buildings.
