Golf fans attending the RBC Canadian Open in Caledon will be able to stay for live music on June 12 and 13, with Dwayne Gretzky and the James Barker Band headlining evening performances at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley.
Golf Canada announced the lineup on May 20, naming Alexa Goldie as the opening performer for the Saturday show. Tickets for each of the two days include access to the golf tournament throughout the day and that evening’s after-party.
The after-party series is being introduced for the first time this year, adding entertainment after the golf rounds at the tournament’s food and fan gathering area, The Fare Way featuring The Keg.
Two evenings of performances
Dwayne Gretzky is scheduled to perform at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 12. The band’s repertoire includes pop and rock songs from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.
According to Golf Canada, the group has performed more than 800 songs and developed a Canadian following over 15 years of live shows. It played to more than 7,000 people at Toronto’s RBC Amphitheatre last summer.
Saturday’s music begins with Goldie at 5:30 p.m., followed by the James Barker Band at 6:30 p.m. All performance times are Eastern.
The James Barker Band, from Woodville, Ont., has won two JUNO Awards for country album of the year: in 2018 for “Game On” and in 2024 for “Ahead of Our Time.” The group has also performed across North America and Europe.
Golf Canada described Goldie’s music as influenced by 1990s country. Her independent releases include “Set In Stone” and “Bad Boy,” and her music has received more than one million Spotify streams, according to the announcement.
Soccer viewing and expanded gathering space
Before Friday’s concert, the venue will host a watch party for the Canada–Bosnia and Herzegovina soccer match at 3 p.m. Eastern.
Tournament director Ryan Paul said the food and beverage area will be enlarged to accommodate more spectators during tournament week. Food and drink service will continue during both nights of music.
The area will also have patio spaces for visitors. The concerts and soccer viewing are additions to the golf event’s spectator attractions, which include the “Rink Hole,” where fans can sing “O Canada” while watching play.
