Downtown Mississauga is hosting a free Family Day celebration on Monday, Feb. 16, with a DJ skate party on Celebration Square and an afternoon of hands-on art at the Living Arts Centre. Both run from noon to 4 p.m.

The city's Family Day in Downtown Mississauga is presented by TD. Almost everything is free, though the Jungle Book performances at the Living Arts Centre need advance tickets.

Skating to a DJ

On Celebration Square, DJ Andre 905 will play music for skaters on the rink from noon to 4 p.m. When people need to warm up, the square has heated patios, and food trucks will be on site throughout the long weekend, from Feb. 14 to 16.

The square is also screening live coverage of the 2026 Winter Games, so families can catch some Canadian events between laps.

Crafts and printmaking at the Living Arts Centre

Across the street, the Living Arts Centre is running free drop-in activities for children and adults:

  • Crafts including lion face masks, scratch art, maple-themed projects, pipe-cleaner snakes, fossil ornaments and colourful insects

  • Metal tooling cards and art stations for screen printing, collagraph and block printmaking

  • Interactive dance breaks

  • A mystery artifact for kids to uncover

Jungle Book on stage

The Living Arts Centre is also staging two performances of Jungle Book, at 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Each runs just over an hour. The city says the production uses video, shadow play and original music. Tickets are sold in advance through Ticketmaster.

Getting there

Celebration Square and the Living Arts Centre are next to City Hall, near Square One. City Hall will be closed for the holiday, but the downtown activities will go ahead.
