Toronto listeners will have a chance to see Flore Laurentienne on May 16 as the musical project led by composer Mathieu David Gagnon brings its upcoming album, Volume III, to stages in Ontario and Quebec.
Exclaim! reported that the announced dates also include an Ottawa performance on June 27 at the National Arts Centre as part of the Ottawa Jazz Festival.
Volume III is scheduled for release April 10 through Secret City. The Toronto appearance will follow both the album’s arrival and a series of European performances planned for April.
The tour announcement coincides with the release of a new single, “(À travers les) Chablis.” Gagnon is the composer behind Flore Laurentienne, the project under which the album and performances are being presented.
The announced Canadian schedule spans May through October, with two Ontario appearances and two Quebec stops. Toronto is the first Canadian date listed.
After Toronto, Flore Laurentienne will perform at Montreal’s Maison Symphonique on June 26 during the Montreal International Jazz Festival. The Ottawa concert follows the next day.
The final announced performance is scheduled for October 24 at the Granada Theatre in Sherbrooke, Que.
