Durham Regional Police said officers from Central West Division were called to the area of Myrtle Road West and Duffs Road at about 5:30 a.m. on May 28, 2026.

According to investigators, a Toyota RAV4 was heading east on Myrtle Road when the driver lost control and the SUV left the roadway. At least two of the occupants were thrown from the vehicle in the crash.

An 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries. A 16-year-old girl was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre, also with serious injuries. A 14-year-old boy suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Police have not said whether any of the injured were wearing seatbelts, or released the current condition of the four occupants.

The DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to investigate. Roads in the area were closed for several hours while officers collected evidence.
