What's happening
Drivers and pedestrians in Pickering will need to plan around a two-week closure of Glenanna Road. The road and its west sidewalk are shut down from Pickering Parkway to the south limit of The Esplanade South, according to a City of Pickering notice.
The closure began Tuesday, October 13 and is scheduled to last until Monday, October 26.
The work is being done to allow the Region of Durham to install a new sanitary sewer and watermain in the area.
Detours and access
The city says detours have been set up for both vehicles and pedestrians, and signage will be posted along the affected routes. A location map showing the closure area is available through the notice.
Glenanna Road runs through the heart of Pickering's civic core, near City Hall at One The Esplanade, so commuters, transit riders and anyone heading to municipal buildings in the area may want to leave extra time.
