Some of North America's best-known comedians are booked for a weekend in a Mississauga park. The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival will stage its first Mississauga edition at Erindale Park, 1695 Dundas St. W., from Friday, Sept. 11 to Sunday, Sept. 13.
Organizers announced the first Mississauga lineup on Instagram on Tuesday. It is the first time the festival has come to the city, and the bill leans heavily on performers known from late-night television, sketch comedy and streaming stand-up specials.

A touring outdoor festival
The festival began in Edmonton in 2021, when its first lineup included Chelsea Handler and David Spade, and has since become a touring series that has showcased some of the biggest names in North American comedy. Along with Mississauga, it is scheduled to visit Edmonton, Winnipeg, Halifax, Vancouver, Calgary and Spokane, Wash., this year.
Organizers describe the format as a cabaret-style comedy club moved outdoors, mixing up-and-coming local comics with headliners who have large followings and global comedy specials. Food trucks and cold drinks are part of the setup.
Erindale Park sits in the Credit River valley off Dundas Street West.
Tickets
Ticket tiers range from general admission up to VIP. Fans can register now for a presale that opens Thursday, Feb. 19. The festival is for those 19 and older and goes ahead rain or shine.
