Guardian Angels Catholic School educator Meghan Button has received a provincial teaching award recognizing her contributions to education, the Ottawa Catholic School Board said.

Button is the 2026 recipient of the OTIP Teaching Award in the Elementary Teacher category. The award recognizes outstanding educators working in Ontario’s publicly funded schools.

She was honoured at the 2026 OTIP Teaching Awards Ceremony in Toronto, alongside other Ontario educators, according to the board.

In its announcement, the board linked the recognition to Button’s work supporting students’ confidence and growth as learners. It described her impact in terms of helping children feel supported, encouraging them through difficulties and helping them recognize their abilities.

The board also highlighted the significance of the provincial recognition for the Guardian Angels school community, including Button’s students and colleagues.
