A 29-year-old Guelph man has been charged with dangerous operation causing death following an investigation into a fatal collision in Caledon that left one driver dead, Peel Regional Police said.
Antonio Isho was arrested and charged on Aug. 17, nearly five months after the early-morning crash at the intersection of Caledon/East Garafraxa Town-Line and 19 Line in Caledon.
What police say happened
Officers were called to the intersection at approximately 5:20 a.m. on March 19, 2026, after a serious collision involving two vehicles.
According to Peel Regional Police, the crash involved a 2015 Volkswagen Golf, driven by the accused, and a 2011 Chevrolet Impala.
The driver of the Chevrolet Impala suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police have not released the victim's identity.
The accused sustained significant injuries in the collision and was taken to a trauma centre for treatment, police said.
Investigation and charges
The investigation was conducted by Peel Regional Police's Major Collision Bureau at the request of the Ontario Provincial Police, given the location of the crash in Caledon.
As a result of that investigation, Isho was arrested and charged with one count of dangerous operation causing death.
He has been released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at a future date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
Dangerous operation causing death is a Criminal Code offence that carries a potential maximum sentence of life imprisonment upon conviction.
Appeal for information
Police are asking anyone with information about the collision to contact investigators with the Major Collision Bureau at 905-453-2121, ext. 3710.
The fatal crash occurred on a rural road in Caledon, a town in the northwest corner of Peel Region, where collisions on country roads are handled through a patchwork of policing jurisdictions — the OPP generally polices the area, but Peel Regional Police can be called in to investigate collisions at the OPP's request.
No further details about the circumstances of the crash, including the cause of the collision or road conditions at the time, have been released by investigators.
