A late-night crash in Mississauga's city centre ended with police seizing suspected fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine worth about $200,000, after one of the drivers ran from the scene.

In a release on Monday, Jan. 26, Peel Regional Police said a black Hyundai Elantra and a black Range Rover Evoque collided at Hurontario Street and Elm Drive at about 11 p.m. on Jan. 9. Police said the Range Rover's driver left on foot.

The service's Air Support Unit tracked the man from overhead. Police said the unit saw him throwing away bags as he tried to get away.

The discarded bags contained large quantities of drugs believed to be fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $200,000
