Ice programs in Whitby are being relocated and some programs at Iroquois Park Sports Centre are being cancelled, according to a Town of Whitby notice.
The notice, posted on the town's website, is dated for Monday, October 19, 2026. Its web address indicates the changes involve ice program relocation at Fieldgate Sports Complex.
For residents and user groups who book town facilities, the notice says availability will be limited from now until November 1. The town says crews are focusing on seasonal priorities during that window, including fall leaf and yard waste collection.
What it means for renters and user groups
Anyone with a program or booking at the affected facilities is being encouraged by the town to confirm the status of their ice time before heading out. Booking dates will become available again in early December, the notice says.
The town has not specified in the notice which individual programs are cancelled, so residents with questions are directed to contact the Town of Whitby through its website.
Other reminders in the notice
The town also used the notice to point residents to a virtual self-guided tour of the Fieldgate Sports Complex, available online for those who want to explore the facility from home.
With municipal election season underway, the town reminded voters to check whether they are on the Voters' List, learn about candidates and find out where to vote at whitby.ca/VOTE.
Residents can also subscribe to town news updates through the Whitby website to receive future notices about program changes and cancellations.
