Drivers travelling through Westney Road and Concession Road 6 in Pickering can expect traffic impacts and temporary lane closures during upcoming crosswalk installation and pavement work.
According to a City of Pickering construction notice, the Regional Municipality of Durham has hired D Rock Paving to carry out the work at the intersection. Westney Road is also designated Regional Road 31.
The contractor is scheduled to arrive in early October to begin preparations. Construction is expected to be completed by November 15, although that timeline depends on weather conditions.
Temporary lane closures will be needed while construction is underway. The notice does not specify the hours of those closures or which lanes will be affected.
