A celebrated Northern Thai restaurant is coming to Mississauga. PAI, recognized by the MICHELIN Guide, will open its first location in the city at Square One Shopping Centre in fall 2026.
The new restaurant will be located in Unit FM07 within Square One's Food District, according to a press release from Touchwood PR. It will have 88 indoor seats and a 30-seat semi-enclosed patio.
The design will take inspiration from PAI's existing locations while adding its own distinctive touches, the release said.
A homecoming for the chef
The Mississauga opening carries personal meaning for Chef Nuit Regular, who co-founded PAI with her husband, Jeff Regular. After immigrating to Canada, she and Jeff first lived in Mississauga before building PAI into one of the country's most recognized Thai restaurant brands.
"Mississauga holds a special place in my heart because it's where my life in Canada began. Bringing PAI here feels like coming home, and we're excited to welcome both new and longtime guests to experience the flavours, traditions, and warm hospitality of Northern Thailand," said Chef Nuit Regular, Executive Chef and Co-Founder of PAI, in the press release.
The release said the expansion responds to years of requests from guests hoping to experience PAI closer to home, and that the new location will serve longtime fans as well as new diners from Mississauga and across Peel Region.
About PAI
PAI opened in Toronto in 2014 and is named after the mountain town of Pai in Northern Thailand. The restaurant was created to share the authentic cuisine Chef Nuit grew up with, along with the warmth of gathering around a family table.
The brand has been recognized by the MICHELIN Guide and Thai Select for its commitment to authentic Northern Thai cuisine, carefully sourced ingredients and hospitality, the release said.
The Square One location will mark the brand's continued growth across the Greater Toronto Area and its first restaurant west of Toronto.
