Midland Mayor Bill Gordon has proclaimed October 10, 2026, as National Dental Care Day in the Town of Midland, encouraging residents to recognize the importance of oral health and support efforts to improve dental care across the community.

According to a Town of Midland notice, the proclamation highlights good oral health as an essential part of overall health and well-being that contributes to an improved quality of life for people of all ages.

The proclamation points to preventive dental care, regular dental examinations, proper oral hygiene and public education as key tools that help reduce the risk of oral disease and promote healthier communities.

It also recognizes the work of dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, dental technicians and all oral healthcare professionals who provide essential care and education to residents.

Gordon said in the proclamation that increasing awareness of oral health encourages individuals and families to adopt healthy habits and seek preventive dental care throughout their lives.

Voting details confirmed for fall election

The same notice confirmed details of the upcoming municipal election. Internet and telephone voting will begin on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 10 a.m. and will be available around the clock until the close of Voting Day on October 26, 2026, at 8 p.m.

Eligible voters will be able to cast their ballot online or by telephone from any location, at any time during the voting period, including from home or wherever internet or telephone service is available.
