Mayor Bill Gordon has proclaimed October 2026 as National Disability Employment Awareness Month in the Town of Midland.
The proclamation, issued in a Town of Midland notice, commits the municipality to building a community where every resident has equitable access to employment opportunities.

The Town also states it is committed to removing barriers so that people who have a disability have equitable opportunities to access, contribute to, advance in, and succeed in meaningful work, and so that the municipal workforce and leadership reflect the diversity of the community it serves.
"I, Bill Gordon, Mayor of the Town of Midland, do hereby proclaim that October 2026 to be National Disability Employment Awareness Month in the Town of Midland," the proclamation reads.
Municipal voting opens Thanksgiving week
The Town also used the notice to remind residents that internet and telephone voting in the municipal election begins Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, at 10 a.m., and will be available around the clock until Voting Day closes on Oct. 26, 2026, at 8 p.m.
Eligible voters can cast their ballot online or by telephone from any location and at any time during the voting period, including from home or wherever internet or telephone service is available, according to the Town.
