Peel Regional Police are asking Mississauga residents for help tracking down a woman wanted in connection with a string of vehicle break-ins across the city that investigators say involved 71 vehicles.

Two early-morning sprees

According to Peel Regional Police, investigators with the 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are looking for Andrea Cederberg, 33, who is described as having no fixed address.

The break-ins happened during the early morning hours of Sept. 3 and Sept. 6, and police say neighbourhoods throughout Mississauga were targeted.

Investigators allege vehicles were unlawfully entered in one of two ways: windows were smashed, or thieves took advantage of doors that were left unlocked. Valuables were stolen from the vehicles, police said.

Police stressed that none of the vehicles were taken, and all of them were unoccupied at the time of the incidents.

Link to earlier arrest

The investigation is connected to the recent arrest of Cory Lowden, 34, also of no fixed address, Peel police said.

Investigators have also flagged possible connections to similar vehicle-crime investigations underway in Halton Region, Toronto, York Region and Waterloo Region. Police said they are continuing to work with policing partners across the Greater Toronto Area to determine the full scope of the alleged activity.

How to help

Anyone who knows where Cederberg is, or who has information about the break-ins, is asked to contact investigators with the 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453-2121, ext. 1133.

The case is a reminder of how quickly vehicle break-ins can pile up across a city the size of Mississauga — and how much police rely on tips from residents to close investigations that span multiple jurisdictions.
