MiWay riders on Dundas Street will see more frequent buses and some new routings starting Monday, Feb. 23, when the city's transit service reworks its routes along the corridor and adjusts schedules on more than a dozen others.
The changes affect connections at Kipling Bus Terminal, the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) and South Common Centre. The city says the goal is a simpler network with more consistent service and better links to Meadowvale, Erin Mills and UTM.
What changes on Dundas
Route 1 Dundas will run between Kipling Bus Terminal and Laird Road at Ridgeway Drive, by way of UTM, with more frequent service in core weekday and weekend hours.
Route 101 Dundas Express will follow the same Kipling to Laird and Ridgeway route via UTM, with more frequent trips in core weekday hours and on Saturdays.
Route 1C Dundas and Route 101 will no longer serve South Common Centre.
Riders heading to South Common Centre will instead transfer at UTM to Route 110 or 110A University Express, or to Route 48 Erin Mills, which is being extended from South Common Centre to UTM. Route 48 will also run more often in weekday rush hours, midday and on weekends. At UTM, it will board at stop #4800.
That means anyone who now rides Route 1C or Route 101 straight to South Common Centre should plan for a transfer at UTM once the changes take effect. The city says the Route 48 extension gives those riders an additional option for reaching the mall and its bus terminal.
Route 26 Burnhamthorpe will also change at South Common Centre. Buses will enter the terminal via South Millway and The Collegeway and leave by Burnhamthorpe Road, boarding at Platform A, stop #1099.
