Mississauga transit riders who use three MiWay routes will need to plan around weekday service suspensions during the holiday period from December 21, 2026, to January 3, 2027.
According to a City of Mississauga service announcement, Routes 18 Derry, 126 Burnhamthorpe Express and 135 Eglinton Express will not operate on weekdays during that period. Route 44 Mississauga Road will have fewer weekday trips.
The city says the holiday adjustments are intended to match service with customer demand.
School-related service also affected
MiWay’s 300-series routes will not operate during the holiday service period. Additional trips that supplement service around school start and dismissal times will also be suspended.
Those changes correspond with secondary school holiday closures, according to the city.
October adjustments and New Year’s Eve service
Separately, MiWay has announced route schedule adjustments taking effect October 26, 2026. The city says those changes respond to evolving traffic and ridership patterns, with the aim of improving reliability and operational efficiency while matching service to demand.
The announcement also says some New Year’s Eve routes will continue operating after midnight for people attending festivities.
MiWay’s next planned service change after the holiday period is January 4, 2027.
