Durham Region Transit is rolling out new timetables on six routes effective Monday, Oct. 19, and Pickering riders on the Brock Road corridor are being urged to check the updated trip times before the changes take hold.
Route 112, which runs entirely within Pickering, is among the routes getting a new schedule. The timetable and route map are now posted on DRT's website, according to Durham Region Transit.
The route links the Brock Road Park & Ride at Highway 407 — where riders can connect with GO Transit — south along Brock Road to the Pickering Parkway Terminal.
Branches and temporary detour
Branch 112B serves the Peter Matthews Drive and Burkholder Drive area, while branch 112+ covers Tillings Road, Dersan Street, Major Oaks Road and Valley Farm Road on its way south to the terminal.
The new route map shows branch 112B on a temporary routing around Peter Matthews Drive. The detour coincides with Regional lane restrictions on Peter Matthews Drive scheduled from Oct. 12 to Nov. 20 for catch basin and maintenance hole work, so riders in that area should expect the detour to remain in place through the construction period.
How to read the new timetable
According to Durham Region Transit, 24-hour service is available on the route, with overnight trips provided by DRT On Demand or an alternate scheduled route. Schedule times are shown in the 24-hour clock, and dashes in the timetable indicate a stop that is not served by a particular trip.
The full new timetable is available as a PDF posted by DRT. All six new Oct. 19 schedules are posted on DRT's Our Services page.
Planning your trip
Riders can plan trips using the DRT On Demand app or the Transit app. DRT also posts detours and service alerts on its website, and customer service is available by phone at 1-866-247-0055.
Other routes receiving updated timetables on Oct. 19 include Route 118 in Pickering, along with PULSE routes 900 and 916.
