Durham Region Transit riders along Pickering's Whites Road corridor will see new trip times starting Monday, Oct. 19, when the transit agency's updated Route 118 schedule takes effect.

Route 118 is one of six DRT routes receiving new timetables that day, according to Durham Region Transit. The new schedule and route map are already posted on DRT's website, and the agency is encouraging riders to review the changes before they come into force.

What's changing on the route

Route 118 runs entirely within the City of Pickering, serving as a key north-south link along the Whites Road corridor. It connects the Brock Road Park & Ride area near Highway 7 with the Pickering Parkway Terminal, travelling south along Whites Road and Sideline 24 through neighbourhoods including the Strouds Lane and Finch Avenue areas.

The new route map shows a temporary routing at the route's northern end. While the detour is in place, buses will run along Highway 7 and Brock Road to reach the Park & Ride.

Riders who board near Highway 7, Alexander Knox Road and the Brock Road Park & Ride should check the new map to confirm where their stops will be located under the revised schedule.

How to read the new timetable

DRT notes that 24-hour service remains available on the route, with overnight trips handled by DRT On Demand or an alternate scheduled route.

Times in the new timetable are shown in the 24-hour clock, and dashes indicate a stop that is not served by a particular trip.

Where to find the schedule

The full Route 118 timetable is available on DRT's website. All six of the new Oct. 19 schedules are posted on DRT's Our Services page.

Riders can also plan trips using the DRT On Demand app or the Transit app, check DRT's service alerts and detours page for changes, or call DRT customer service at 1-866-247-0055.
