Finding out what's happening in Orillia just got easier. Information Orillia has launched The Bulletin Board, a digital board of event posters that residents can browse online anytime, from anywhere.

According to Information Orillia, the new online board is a digital version of the organization's physical event wall, which lines the outside of its office at 36 Mississaga Street West. For fifty years, people have stopped by that wall to see what's coming up in the community.

Now the same posters can be viewed on the web without a trip downtown. The first edition of The Bulletin Board is already available.

What's on the board

The posters come from local organizations, businesses and community groups, according to Information Orillia. Listings cover a wide range of community happenings, including live music, local festivals, kids' activities and educational seminars, among other events.

How to submit an event

Information Orillia is inviting anyone hosting a community event in the city to send in a poster for inclusion on the board. The organization says the goal is to make it easier to find and share what's happening in Orillia.

The Bulletin Board adds an online option to a familiar downtown tradition, while the original poster wall at the Mississaga Street West office continues to serve passersby as it has for the past half-century.
