Ottawa police are asking for witnesses after a serious collision on Hunt Club Road left a 20-year-old motorcyclist in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Emergency crews responded to the crash, which involved a motorcycle and a vehicle, at about 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, according to the Ottawa Police Service.

Police said the collision occurred on Hunt Club Road near Bank Street. The motorcyclist, a 20-year-old man, was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition.

The two people inside the other vehicle were not reported to have been injured.

Police appeal for information

Investigators are urging anyone who saw the collision to contact police. They are also asking residents and drivers who may have dashcam or security camera footage of the incident to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Fatal Collision Investigation Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 2345, police said.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online at crimestoppers.ca.

The Ottawa Police Service also encourages residents to register their security camera locations at CAMSafe.ca, a program that helps investigators find potential footage after incidents in the community.

Hunt Club Road is a major east-west artery in south Ottawa, and the stretch near Bank Street is a busy commercial and residential corridor.

Police have not said whether any charges have been laid. The investigation is ongoing.
