Investigators say the evidence was found sometime overnight between July 8 and July 9. Police have not released further details about what was discovered or whether anyone was injured.

How residents can help
Police are also encouraging residents to register their information and security camera locations through CAMSafe.ca, a program that helps investigators identify potential video footage in the area of an incident. Registrants' camera locations are made available to police conducting investigations.
In addition, the Ottawa Police Service has opened its Community Safety Data portal at data.ottawapolice.ca, where members of the public can view, download and interact with data released by the force.
Anyone with information about the shooting can also reach Crime Stoppers anonymously. Tips can be submitted online or by phone, and callers do not have to give their name.

No arrests have been announced in connection with the investigation, and police have not said whether the shooting is linked to any other incidents in the city.
The intersection of Preston Street and Gladstone Avenue is a busy commercial and residential area that sees heavy foot traffic, and anyone who was in the area on the night of July 8 or early morning of July 9 may have information relevant to the investigation, police said.
