Police in Halton Region are searching for a dark-coloured SUV after a pedestrian was struck and seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision in Burlington this week.
The collision happened at about 11:25 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, in the right curb lane of Fairview Street, just east of Brant Street, according to the Halton Regional Police Service.
A vehicle travelling westbound struck an adult male pedestrian, police said. He was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
The vehicle did not stop. It was last seen continuing west on Fairview Street at a high rate of speed.
Witnesses described the vehicle as a dark-coloured, compact-sized SUV. Police said both the driver and a passenger were described as males who appeared to be around 20 years old.
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have information or dashcam footage from the area at the time, to come forward.

Fairview Street is a busy east-west corridor through southern Burlington, and the collision occurred near the city's downtown core, an area with a mix of homes, businesses and pedestrian traffic.
