Peel Regional Police are asking for the public's help as they investigate allegations of fraud and breach of trust involving a Mississauga law firm, and investigators believe there may be more victims who have not yet come forward.
The force's Fraud Bureau has launched a criminal investigation into the conduct of lawyers operating under the name RSG Law, a firm based in Mississauga, Peel Regional Police said.
Police began looking into the firm after receiving multiple complaints from members of the public, along with information from regulatory bodies, starting in July 2026. The complaints concern the conduct of the lawyers working under the RSG Law name, police said.
The allegations under investigation include fraud and breach of trust. Police have not said how much money is believed to be involved or whether any charges have been laid, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Who police want to hear from
Investigators say they are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who believes they may have suffered a financial loss connected to the firm, as well as anyone with information relevant to the case.
"Investigators believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward," the police service said in a news release.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Peel Regional Police Fraud Bureau directly at 905-453-2121, extension 3335.
What residents should know
For people in Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon, the case is a reminder that fraud reports in the region are handled by a dedicated Fraud Bureau, and that police rely on tips from the public to build these files. Police have not released the names of any individuals under investigation and have not said whether the firm is still operating.
Peel police are also pointing residents to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, which publishes information on how to protect yourself from fraud and tracks current scams targeting Canadians.
