The Pickering Panthers are part of a new Ontario Junior Hockey League brand identity, unveiled Thursday as the league looks to sharpen its image ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The Panthers are one of 24 member clubs taking on the refreshed identity, which the Ontario Junior Hockey League announced on its website. The centrepiece is what the league is calling The OJHL Standard — a commitment to player development, operational excellence, community impact and a consistent experience across all its teams.
League Commissioner Marty Savoy said the change goes beyond a fresh look for the league's clubs.
“This rebrand represents much more than a new logo; it is the culmination of extensive strategic planning and the starting line of a bold new era for the OJHL,” said Commissioner Marty Savoy.
Captains to get direct voice
Along with the new look, the OJHL is set to introduce new operating standards and enhanced communications across the league, according to the announcement.
The initiative also includes the creation of a Team Leadership Group, which will give team captains — including the Panthers' captain — a direct voice in shaping the future player experience in the league.
The new OJHL identity will roll out across league and team platforms throughout the 2026-27 season. The Panthers said they are proud to represent The OJHL Standard both on and off the ice.
For Pickering hockey fans, the change means the local club will carry the league's refreshed branding when it takes the ice this fall, as part of a league-wide push to deliver a more consistent experience for players and communities across Ontario.
