Four people from Pickering and Ajax are facing charges after a Durham Regional Police guns and gangs investigation seized more than three kilograms of suspected fentanyl and a loaded handgun reported stolen from the United States.
According to a Durham Regional Police news release, investigators with the Guns and Gangs Unit wrapped up the probe on Friday, July 17, 2026. The investigation had focused on a man police believed was in possession of a firearm and involved in drug trafficking.
Vehicle stop in Ajax
Officers located the suspect and a woman inside a vehicle in Ajax and took both into custody without incident. A search of the vehicle turned up over three kilograms of suspected fentanyl, police said.
Police did not specify where in Ajax the arrests took place.
Search warrant at Pickering home
Later that day, investigators with help from the Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Pickering. A second woman found inside the home was arrested without incident.
Inside the residence, police found a loaded firearm equipped with a prohibited over-capacity magazine, along with a replica Uzi. Officers confirmed the loaded gun had been stolen from Georgia in the United States.
Fourth suspect surrenders
On Sunday, July 19, a fourth outstanding suspect turned himself in to police, according to the release.
Jaelin Jared Gamble, 25, of Pickering, and Natasha Marie Rotta, 32, of Ajax, are each charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, in connection with the suspected fentanyl.
Allyson Mae Adams, 27, of Pickering, and Isaiah Derrick Adams, 25, of Pickering, are each charged with possessing a firearm obtained by crime, possessing a restricted or prohibited firearm without a licence, possessing a loaded firearm, and possessing a prohibited device.
The allegations have not been tested in court.
