Port Credit's restaurants are trying to warm up the coldest stretch of the year. Portlicious: A Winter Dining Experience, a new event from the Port Credit Business Improvement Association, starts today and runs until March 2.
For two weeks, participating restaurants and cafés in the lakeside village are offering three-course prix-fixe menus created for the event. Each spot puts its own spin on the format, and organizers are encouraging diners to try more than one.
Who's taking part
Nine businesses are on the launch list, covering everything from Greek and Italian cooking to pub fare and juice bars:
Colossus Greek Taverna
The Crooked Cue
Green Press
Posta Italbar Cucina
Habitat Social Modern Kitchen
Shore Grill & Grotto
Snug Harbour Seafood Bar and Grill
The Donegal Arms
Nourishmoi
Posta and Shore Grill & Grotto are waterfront restaurants, and Snug Harbour looks out over the Port Credit marina.
A chance at a gift card
Diners who order from a Portlicious menu can upload their receipt through the BIA's website for a chance to win a $100 gift card to the restaurant they visited. Full menus and the receipt upload are posted at portcredit.com.
Helping restaurants through a slow season
Late winter is typically a quiet time for restaurants, and this year it followed weeks of deep cold and heavy snow in Mississauga. The BIA is pitching the event as a reason for both locals and visitors to make the trip to the village.
It's the perfect way to enjoy exceptional dining experiences, discover new favourite spots and support our local restaurants during a traditionally slower season.
