Caledon residents will have a chance next week to weigh in on a proposal to rename portions of Beech Grove Sideroad as 1904 Golf Canada Drive, following the completion of the new Golf Canada Headquarters in town.

The public meeting is scheduled for June 23, 2026, at 3 p.m. in Council Chambers.

The headquarters sits at 1564 Beech Grove Sideroad, an address the Town is proposing to change to 1904 Golf Canada Drive. The renaming would apply to the identified sections of the road where the new building is located.

Why the change is being proposed

The section of street was flagged as a candidate for renaming for several reasons, according to a posting on the Town of Caledon's website.

The renaming "reflects local geographic context, given its location within and adjacent to established golf course lands," the posting states.

It also says the change would enhance wayfinding and visibility, particularly at the first bend in the roadway, "supporting both drivers and emergency response services."

The Town also cites the renaming as a way to commemorate Golf Canada, which it describes as a "non-profit organization with notable contributions to the local community."

A new landmark on Beech Grove Sideroad

Construction of the headquarters wrapped up in June 2026, ahead of the RBC Canadian Open. The building is a three-storey, 26,000-square-foot structure on an eight-acre site next to TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley.

The facility also houses the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame and Museum, the Talon Links community putting park, and the First Tee – Canada Headquarters, a program that provides children with life-enhancing experiences through golf.

Residents interested in the proposal can attend the June 23 meeting to learn more and share their views before the renaming moves forward.
