A proposed subdivision at 14337 Highway 50 would add about 315 homes in Caledon, along with a neighbourhood park, a stormwater management pond and an internal network of public roads.
The Town of Caledon is reviewing the draft plan of subdivision application, according to a Town of Caledon application notice dated May 14. Residents can provide comments on the proposal before the approval authority makes its decision.
KLM Planning Partners Inc. submitted the application on behalf of Tiffany Rox North Hill Ltd. The proposal calls for 180 single-detached homes and approximately 135 townhouse units.
The application number is 21T-26004C. The property is also identified in the notice as Part Lot 12, Concession 7, ALB.
The submission is a proposal, not an approved development. The town says the application remains under review and cautions that the illustration accompanying the notice is provided for information and may change.
How residents can get information and comment
Residents seeking supporting material or information about the application and appeal rights can consult the town’s project page for 14337 Highway 50 or contact the lead planner at Town Hall. The notice lists weekday contact hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The planning contact is Chris Bean, a community planner in the town’s Planning and Development Department. Bean can be reached at 905-584-2272, ext. 4265, or Chris.Bean@caledon.ca.
The notice outlines how participation in the planning process affects appeal rights. It says a person or public body must make an oral submission at a public meeting, if one is held, or a written submission to the town clerk before the approval authority grants or refuses draft subdivision approval.
According to the notice, a person or public body that does not make those submissions is not entitled to appeal the town’s decision to the Ontario Land Tribunal.
The notice also says those who have not made submissions may not be added as a party to an appeal hearing unless the tribunal finds reasonable grounds to allow it. It does not list a public meeting date or a specific deadline for comments.
