Toronto Fire Services Chief Jim Jessop will provide an operational update Thursday afternoon on a fire at 2 Matilda St., a residential street south of King Street East near the Don Valley.
Jessop will be joined by Ashley Curtis, General Manager of Transportation Services, for the briefing, according to a City of Toronto media advisory.
The update is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 10 Matilda St.
City officials have released few details about the fire so far. The advisory does not say when the blaze began, what caused it, or whether anyone was injured. The inclusion of Transportation Services in the briefing suggests the incident may have affected local roads or infrastructure in the area, though the city has not confirmed that.
Matilda Street runs through the West Don Lands and Corktown neighbourhoods, an area that has seen substantial residential development in recent years.
The Toronto Voice will provide further details once Thursday's briefing takes place.
