Municipal facilities in the Town of Pelham will be closed on Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, for the Thanksgiving holiday, according to a Town of Pelham news release.
The closures apply to Thanksgiving Monday only. All affected locations are set to reopen on Tuesday, Oct. 13, the town said.
Who to call during the holiday
Residents who run into an after-hours emergency tied to water, sewer or road conditions — specifically, situations where there is imminent danger to public or private property — should call 905-892-2607 and follow the prompts, or dial 905-734-0892 directly.
For anything that isn't an emergency, the town is directing residents to pelham.ca, where service requests can be submitted through the Spot it? Share it! portal at www.pelham.ca/shareit.
Plan ahead for the long weekend
The holiday falls on the second Monday of October, as it does each year in Canada. Anyone who needs to visit a town facility in person — for permits, payments, programs or other in-person business — should plan around the Monday closure and stop by before the weekend or on Tuesday, when regular operations resume.
The Town of Pelham's municipal offices are located at 20 Pelham Town Square in Fonthill. Residents can also stay informed about town activities, events, programs and operations by signing up for the municipality's eNewsletters through its website.
The town's announcement did not specify which individual facilities are affected, so residents unsure about a particular service — such as recreation programming or a specific office — can check pelham.ca or contact the town at 905-892-2607 before heading out.
