Two 18-year-olds were seriously injured when a sedan rolled over at the intersection of Altona Road and Kingston Road in Pickering early Friday morning.
Durham Regional Police said officers from West Division were called to the area at approximately 2:05 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026.
According to police, a Nissan sedan was travelling southbound on Altona Road at Kingston Road when it lost control, left the roadway and rolled over.
Officers arriving at the scene found the sedan flipped on its side. Two occupants were trapped inside and had to be extricated by emergency services, police said.
The 18-year-old passenger was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. The 18-year-old driver was also transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to investigate. Roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
Police said the cause of the collision remains under investigation, and that alcohol may have been a factor.
