There is still time to get out on the ice. The City of Mississauga says its outdoor rinks remain open, weather permitting, and it is encouraging residents to make the most of the rest of the season with some fresh air, exercise and time with neighbours.
Here is where to go, and what to bring.
Celebration Square
The city's largest outdoor rink, downtown at Mississauga Celebration Square, comes with twinkling lights, music, food trucks and heated patios. It is open every day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. until Saturday, March 7. Skate rentals and sharpening are available on site for a fee.
Port Credit Memorial Park skating trail
On the waterfront, a 200-metre skating loop looks out over Lake Ontario and the Credit River. The trail is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Gulleden Park
A short walk from the Burnhamthorpe Community Centre, this oval rink is a good place to put in some laps. It is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Woodhurst Heights
For something smaller, the city runs a neighbourhood outdoor rink at Woodhurst Heights, open every day from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Natural rinks in neighbourhood parks
There are 28 natural ice rinks in parks across Mississauga this winter, built and maintained by community volunteers. They usually run from January to March, depending on the weather. The city's online find-a-park tool shows where they are. Look for the Ice is Ready sign before stepping on, and bring your own skates.
Volunteer sign-ups for this season have closed. The city says details on how to help run a rink in the 2026-27 season will be shared in the fall.
Before you go
Make sure skates fit properly and feel comfortable
Wear warm socks that cover your ankles
A CSA-approved hockey helmet is recommended for skaters of every ability
The city is also reminding residents to stay off frozen ponds, lakes, rivers and creeks. Changing water levels and temperatures leave the ice weak and unpredictable, and skating on them breaks the city's parks bylaw. Ice near a shore or riverbank can look thick but is still uneven and dangerous.
Hours at every location depend on conditions, so check the city's skating page before heading out.
