Whitby transit riders who use the northbound bus stop on Thickson Road just south of Rossland Road will need to board elsewhere starting Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026.
Durham Region Transit said stop #283 will temporarily close because of construction activity at the Thickson Road and Rossland Road intersection. The closure will remain in effect until further notice.
A temporary northbound stop will be available on Thickson Road at William Stephenson Drive, approximately 200 metres south of the closed stop.
Riders can also use stop #93185, identified as Northbound @ 3193 Thickson, north of Rossland Road.
The notice does not give a reopening date for stop #283. Durham Region Transit lists its customer contact number as 1-866-247-0055.
