A 23-year-old Whitby man is facing multiple charges after an investigation into the online luring of two girls and the making of child sexual abuse material, Durham Regional Police said.

Manu Sugunakumar is accused of using Reddit and Snapchat to lure a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old female into sending sexual abuse and exploitation material. Police said the accounts involved operated under the usernames DeliveryNormal7189 on Reddit and manu041.01 on Snapchat.

According to Durham Regional Police, investigators with the Internet Child Exploitation Unit began looking into the allegations in late 2025. In 2026, officers executed a search warrant at the suspect's Whitby residence, where several electronic devices were located and seized. The suspect was found in the home and taken into custody without incident.

Police said the accused is an employee at Durham College and that investigators have concerns there may be additional victims. A photo of the accused has been released by police and can be viewed at www.drps.ca.
