The City of Mississauga released its list of March consultation opportunities on Tuesday, Feb. 24. Some are open to everyone in the city, while others focus on parks in wards 4 and 5. Here are the dates to know.

1. Rental housing protection by-law

The city is updating its Rental Housing Protection By-law, which requires rental units that are demolished or converted to condominiums to be replaced one-for-one at similar rents. The update could add more support for tenants, such as compensation during construction and help with moving costs. Virtual information sessions are set for Tuesday, March 24 and Tuesday, March 31; registration is required.

2. Public Art Banner Program

The city is looking for an artist, illustrator or artist team to design banners for light poles across Mississauga. Aimed at emerging public artists, the commission pays $10,000 plus HST. The deadline is Monday, March 9, at 11:59 p.m.

3. Future park at Grand Highland (Ward 5)

The former Grand Highland Golf Course is becoming a park, and residents can now review its concept plan. The design centres on commemorating the Antrex Indigenous Village and First Nations and Indigenous communities. The survey closes Sunday, March 15.

4. Iceland Arena skatepark (Ward 5)

The city plans to replace the multi-use skate ramp at Iceland Arena with a modern skatepark, shaped by public input and technical studies. Ward 5 residents and anyone who plans to use it can share feedback until Wednesday, March 18.

5. Public art at Zonta Meadows Park (Ward 4)

Three artist teams have submitted proposals for new public art at Zonta Meadows Park. Residents can help the selection committee pick a winner by completing a survey before Sunday, March 22.
