A popular gelato shop known for drawing long lineups downtown is expanding to Toronto's west end. Mizzica Gelateria is opening its third Toronto location at 1080 St. Clair Ave. W., near the corner of St. Clair and Dufferin, according to Over Here Toronto.
Signage for the new shop is already up at the address. No opening date has been announced, though updates posted on social media suggest work on the location is moving quickly.
Mizzica is an award-winning gelateria serving artisanal Italian gelato. Its original location, at Queen and John, regularly attracts lineups that stretch around the corner — a level of demand that has helped the business grow into a small chain.
A growing footprint in the city
The St. Clair West shop will be Mizzica's third in Toronto. A second location opened on Yonge Street in 2024, according to Over Here Toronto.
For residents of the St. Clair West and Corso Italia area, the arrival adds another dessert option to a stretch of St. Clair already known for its Italian cafés, pastries and food shops.
Mizzica has not said whether the St. Clair location will offer the full range of gelato flavours available at its other shops, or whether it will serve other items from the menu.
How to track the opening
With no confirmed opening date, the shop has pointed customers to its Instagram account for updates on when the St. Clair West location will welcome its first customers.
