Pickering seniors have a Halloween celebration coming up, and they will need to plan ahead to get in the door.
The City of Pickering and its 55+ Recreation Committee are hosting a 55+ Halloween Dance on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Dorsay Community and Heritage Centre, 2365 Sixth Concession Road, according to the city's official listing.
Live music, costumes and snacks
The evening features live music by Two for the Show. Costumes are welcome, and free snacks and drinks will be provided.
Tickets cost $7.75 each and are available in advance only. They will not be sold at the door on the night of the event.
Where to buy tickets
Tickets can be purchased at four city locations: the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex, the George Ashe Library and Community Centre, the East Shore Community Centre, and the Dorsay Community and Heritage Centre. There is a limit of 10 tickets per customer.
Debit and credit cards are accepted at all four locations. Cash is accepted only at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex.
The event is funded through the New Horizons for Seniors Program grant, the city says.
More 55+ events on the calendar
The dance is part of the city's 55+ exclusive events lineup. The schedule also includes a Spooky Movie Night on Oct. 24.
