Mississauga residents are invited to celebrate the reopening of the renovated Settler’s Green Tennis Courts on Tuesday, July 14, with a ceremony at 6440 Glen Erin Drive.

The ceremony will run from 11 to 11:30 a.m., according to a City of Mississauga announcement published July 9. Members of council, Tennis Canada and National Bank are scheduled to take part.

On-court activities for City summer campers will follow the ceremony. The announcement identifies those activities as being for campers, rather than describing them as a general public tennis session.

The renovation received funding from National Bank through the National Bank Play Your Court Program. The City says the refreshed courts are intended to make tennis more accessible and encourage more people to take up the sport.

The City is welcoming residents with a range of tennis experience to the celebration, from people who have never played to experienced players. It is also inviting those interested in an outdoor activity to visit the courts and meet others in the community.

The announcement does not provide a renovation cost or a breakdown of the work completed. It also does not outline court booking arrangements or regular playing hours.

For residents planning to attend the reopening, the scheduled public ceremony is the half-hour event beginning at 11 a.m. at the Glen Erin Drive courts.
