Tennis players in west Toronto now have six new indoor courts to use through the colder months, as Premier Racquet Clubs has opened its new Eglinton Flats facility at 3601 Eglinton Avenue West.

The club held a ribbon-cutting celebration on October 9, attended by the Ward 5 city councillor and Premier Racquet Clubs leadership, including president and CEO Karl Hale, who also serves as tournament director of the National Bank Open presented by Rogers, GTA Weekly reported.

"Eglinton Flats is an incredible tennis community, and we are extremely excited about what this facility will mean for players and families in the area," Hale said.

"Our goal at Premier Racquet Clubs is to create outstanding places where people of all ages and abilities can play, learn, compete and develop a lifelong passion for racquet sports. We are proud to continue investing in tennis and growing the game across Ontario."

The opening marks the first phase of a larger expansion planned for the Eglinton Flats site. A second dome is planned for 2027, which would bring the facility to a proposed 12 tennis courts and six pickleball courts.

The added indoor space comes at a useful time for local players. Once fall and winter arrive, Toronto's outdoor courts become harder to use, and the new dome provides room for lessons, recreational matches and organized training at a location the city's tennis community already knows well.

According to GTA Weekly, the facility offers private lessons, junior and adult programs, competitive training, leagues, clinics and court bookings. Adult sessions are organized by playing level, while junior programs are geared toward younger athletes learning and developing their game.

Premier Racquet Clubs operates six locations across the Greater Toronto Area and continues to expand its racquet-sport programs and facilities.

Players interested in joining can explore membership options and court rates through the club. Fees and available court times depend on the selected program and booking arrangements.
