Tina: Better Be Good To Me, a concert built on the music of Tina Turner, plays Flato Markham Theatre on Friday, Jan. 30, at 8 p.m.
The show stars Canadian performer Tiffany Deriveau, whose stage credits include work with Mirvish, Stratford, Soulpepper and the Charlottetown Festival. Tickets range from $15 to $88 through the box office at 171 Town Centre Blvd.
A career told through the hits
The production draws on music from across Turner's 50-year career and traces her story from tragedy to her comeback. It sets the songs inside an imagined stadium concert from the early 2000s.
The show takes its title from Better Be Good to Me, a single from Turner's 1984 album Private Dancer, the record that relaunched her as a solo artist. The city's season announcement billed the evening as a powerhouse tribute to her comeback.
Turner died in 2023 at 83.
Closing a busy January
The concert comes near the end of a full month at the city-owned theatre, which is marking its 40th anniversary with its 2025-26 Diamond Season. January has brought high school musicals, a ballet, stand-up comedy and an Animaniacs concert with original voice actors.
February brings Girls Nite Out, a comedy night, on Feb. 6 and actor Saul Rubinek's solo show Playing Shylock on Feb. 25. The theatre offers $15 YouthTIX seats for most Diamond Season shows, and parking is free.
