Every initiative in Wasaga Beach's 2023–2026 Term of Council Priorities plan is now complete or underway, the Town announced this week.
The plan, adopted in 2023, includes 84 initiatives grouped under four areas: building a complete and inclusive community, creating economic opportunities, establishing well-run government and demonstrating green leadership. According to a Town of Wasaga Beach news release, the priorities were shaped by resident feedback and continue to guide municipal decisions and investments.
The Town says the milestone has come alongside more than $305 million in public and private investment during this term of council, including over $155 million in provincial funding — which the release describes as more than any council in the history of Wasaga Beach has attracted.
Since 2023, the Town also reports attracting more than 1,100 jobs to the community.
"Strong collaboration between Council and staff"
"This extraordinary milestone reflects the strong collaboration between Council and staff," said CAO Andrew McNeill in the release. "We're continuing to deliver day-to-day services while advancing projects that will make life better and more affordable for the residents of Wasaga Beach for years to come."
The release also includes a statement, not attributed to a named individual, crediting residents for shaping the priorities: "Our priorities came directly from the people of Wasaga Beach. Residents asked for better infrastructure, more job opportunities and strong, responsible leadership. We turned that input into a clear plan—and today, every priority is moving forward. That's real progress for our community and real results for local families."
The Town lists its key achievements under the plan as strengthening healthcare, education and housing; investing in infrastructure and public spaces; enhancing tourism and year-round experiences; and supporting affordability and community well-being. The release did not include a breakdown of how many of the 84 initiatives are finished versus still in progress.
Residents can track the status of the priorities on the Town's website at wasagabeach.com/strategic-priorities.
The announcement comes roughly six months before the next municipal election, which the Town's notice reminds voters is scheduled for October 26, 2026.
