Shoppers at Square One now have a date for the mall's new Winners. The off-price department store will open on Monday, April 20, Square One announced on Thursday in a social media post.
Square One first said last summer that Winners was coming to the downtown Mississauga shopping centre.
Where to find it
The store will take over a large space on Level 2 near entrance 7 that was previously home to clothing retailer Urban Behavior, a mall spokesperson told INsauga. Urban Behavior confirmed last year that it was closing that location.
About the retailer
Winners sells brand-name clothing, footwear and home decor at discounted prices. The company says its stock comes from a range of sources, such as cancelled orders from department and specialty stores, manufacturers' surplus and end-of-season closeouts.
The chain was founded in Toronto in 1982 by David Margolis and was among the first off-price department stores in Canada. It merged in 1990 with TJX, the U.S. owner of off-price chains. In Canada, the TJX family also includes HomeSense and Marshalls.
The mall has not announced store hours or any opening-day plans.
