Mississauga voters now know exactly who they will be choosing from when they head to the polls this fall.
One hundred and twenty-eight candidates have been certified to run in the city's 2026 Municipal Election, according to a City of Mississauga news release. The official list includes candidates for Mayor, Ward/Regional Councillor and School Board Trustee.
The list has been finalized, and some candidates have already secured their seats. The release states that candidates who ran unopposed were elected by acclamation, meaning they will take office without appearing on the ballot.
When and where to vote
Election Day is Monday, October 26, 2026. On that day, Mississauga voters will elect the Mayor, their Ward/Regional Councillor and a School Board Trustee for their area.
Voters can cast their ballot at any voting location within their ward on Election Day.
For those who cannot make it on October 26 — or who simply prefer to vote earlier — Advance Voting will run from October 6 to 11. Voters can attend any Advance Voting location, regardless of where they live in the city.
A full list of voting locations for both Advance Voting and Election Day will be posted online in the coming weeks, according to the release.
