Toronto's 2026 municipal election results are now official. City Clerk John D. Elvidge has certified the results, confirming the vote counts that will shape the next four years of city government.
A total of 989,990 ballots were cast in the election, according to a City of Toronto news release issued October 29.
The official declaration of results, showing the total number of votes each candidate received, is now posted on the Toronto Elections Results webpage. Residents can look up how candidates fared across the city's races.
Poll-by-poll details online
For voters who want a closer look at the numbers, the City has also published poll-by-poll results. Those breakdowns show how many votes were cast at each voting place on election day, as well as during advance voting and by mail.
Final voter statistics are still to come. The City says they will be released within 30 days of the election, once all revisions to the voters' list have been processed and the official number of eligible voters is known.
Anyone curious about how turnout in this election compares with previous votes can find statistics from earlier elections on the City's Open Data webpage.
New council takes office this month
The certification clears the way for the 2026-2030 term of Toronto City Council, which begins Sunday, November 15.
Before council convenes, newly elected members will make their Declaration of Office privately with the City Clerk. The first meeting of the new council is scheduled for Wednesday, November 18 and Thursday, November 19.
The City has also posted a fact sheet about the 2026 municipal election on its Media Room webpage, along with election images, videos and b-roll footage for media use.
More information about the election is available on the Toronto Elections webpage at toronto.ca/Elections, according to a City of Toronto news release.
