Unofficial results from Wasaga Beach's municipal election were still not available late Monday night after the town's contracted election services provider ran into a delay delivering the tallies.
What happened
In a statement posted to its website, the Town of Wasaga Beach said polls for the 2026 municipal election closed at 8 p.m. and that its election services provider, Neuvote, was experiencing a delay in providing the results to the town.
Neuvote staff are working diligently to provide the results as quickly as possible.
"Neuvote staff are working diligently to provide the results as quickly as possible," the statement from the town reads. The statement was issued by the Clerk's office, which oversees the municipal election.
Where to watch for results
The town said unofficial results will be posted at wasagabeach.com/election as soon as they are received and are available for publication, and thanked residents for their patience and understanding.
Wasaga Beach residents who want updates on council, programs and services, upcoming events and construction notices can also sign up for the town's news alerts at wasagabeach.com/subscribe.
The delay means candidates and voters in the beach town, at the southeastern edge of Simcoe County, went into Monday night without knowing who will make up the next council. Until the provider delivers the data, any figures circulating online should not be treated as official.
The town has said the results posted will be unofficial. Official results are confirmed only after the Clerk certifies them, a step that allows for any recounts or administrative corrections.
